Privacy Policy

This policy covers svcproof.com, the marketing site you are reading now. It is short because the site does very little: there are no cookies, no analytics service, no advertising pixels and no third-party code of any kind.

The site is operated by Cimbrian, Inc., PO Box 321, Millersville, PA 17551. Questions about anything below go to security@svcproof.com or 717-808-0988.

What this site records

When you load a page, one line is written to a log file on our own server. That line contains:

  • the date and time of the request;
  • the page requested and the response status;
  • the referring URL, if your browser sent one;
  • whether the request came from a phone, a tablet or a desktop;
  • whether the request came from a known search-engine crawler, and which one;
  • your IP address;
  • the network the address belongs to, from its public reverse-DNS record; and
  • any campaign parameters in the link you followed (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content, gclid, msclkid, fbclid, and our own from, which our “Send this” buttons add so we can see a page being shared contractor-to-contractor).

Your IP address is the only item in that list that could identify you. We keep it deliberately: in a market this small, distinguishing fourteen page views by one person from fourteen different people is the difference between a useful signal and a meaningless number. We do look up the address’s public reverse-DNS record, which tells us the network it belongs to — usually an internet provider, occasionally a company. That is the only outside source we consult, and we do not attempt to identify individuals.

Your browser’s full user-agent string is not stored. It is read once, reduced to “phone”, “tablet” or “desktop”, and discarded. There is no fingerprinting.

What this site does not do

  • No cookies. The site sets none, of any kind, and there is nothing for you to consent to or dismiss.
  • No third-party services. No Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising or social pixels, no chat widget, no embedded video. Fonts are served from our own server rather than a font CDN, so no outside party sees your visit at all.
  • No accounts and no forms. This site has no login and collects nothing you type. If you contact us, you do so by e-mail or telephone, using your own mail client or phone.
  • No selling or sharing. We do not sell, rent or share this log data with anybody, and we do not use it for advertising.

Why we are allowed to record it

We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding how this site is used, keeping it available and secure, and knowing whether our marketing reaches anyone. The data is used only for those purposes.

How long we keep it

The page-view log is retained indefinitely. It is a small text file, it is our only record of how this site has been received over time, and we would rather keep the history than discard it on a schedule. If you would like your IP address removed from it, ask us and we will remove it.

Where it is kept and who can see it

The log lives on a server we own, in a SOC 2 Type II audited data center in Pennsylvania. It is not sent to any third party. The summary page that reads it is protected by a password and is available only to Cimbrian staff.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to our processing of it, or to receive a copy. For this site that means your IP address and the pages associated with it. Write to security@svcproof.com and we will act on the request; we do not charge for it and we will not treat you differently for making it. If you are in the EU or UK and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local supervisory authority.

Children

This site sells field-service software to businesses. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

The ServiceProof application

This policy covers the website only. The ServiceProof mobile app is a different matter: it reads from and writes to a contractor’s own dESCO ESC database, and the data in that system — their customers, their jobs, their invoices — belongs to the contractor, not to us. When we operate or host that system we do so on the contractor’s instructions, under the agreement we have with them, and that agreement governs how the data is handled. If you are a customer of a contractor who uses ServiceProof and you have a question about your own information, contact that contractor directly — they control the record.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the effective date above. The site is small enough that material changes are rare.
